Projects & Partnerships

Active Communities Network in Ireland and Northern Ireland delivers projects that engage and support young people within their own communities, raise aspirations through the use of positive role models and peer mentors, build social and vocational skills and offer realistic pathways to achievement.

In developing these projects we have built a network of key strategic and funding partners who have initiated, funded and supported projects that share our ethos and commitment to the use of sport as a pathway for social change.

These partners include the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, Co-Operation Ireland, Comic Relief, Rio Ferdinand Live The Dream Foundation, and government departments in both Belfast and Dublin.

All our projects deliver across a number of agendas, and address a range of social issues including:

  • Outreach and community engagement programmes
  • Sports participation
  • Community Cohesion and Social Inclusion
  • Youth Crime and Anti-Social behaviour
  • Personal and Social Development
  • Citizenship and Volunteering
  • Education and training
  • Employment and Enterprise
